Meet the Teachers: Jamie Bishop

If you ask Jamie her favorite color she is likely to answer with an emphatic, “The Rainbow!”  That attitude is one of the things that makes her classes inspiring, she brings a rainbow of color to the practice and opens up the boundaries of what yoga is while still holding onto the foundations of hatha yoga.  

The studio always smells nice and feels great when Jamie has been around.  She comes in, burns some incense, lights candles and puts effort into creating a warm and inviting space.  Often she leaves a little bowl of incense in the street level doorway that you can smell as soon as you walk in.  Here and there she ends her Wednesday classes by brewing up a batch of fresh juice to share.  Her enthusiasm and positive energy have helped to create much of the beauty around the studio - she is the primary contributor to The Chakra Wall and the main designer of the Open Way Yoga logo.  She’s worked on our Facebook Page and helps plan our special events.  She’s like the rainbow... a little bit of everything!

When it comes to her classes, she has an accumulated knowledge from well over a decade of learning about the chakras, astrology and yogic traditions.  Her warmth make her classes a pleasure to attend - They are fun and fluid.  These pictures of her really show just how much fun she has with yoga.
