Earth Philosophy at OWY

You may have noticed some beautiful baskets of herbs drying in one of our back rooms over the past couple of weeks. Rachel DuFresne, founder or Earth Philosophy, uses this area as a work space to create her amazing products. I first tried Rachel's products about a year and a half ago and have continued to be impressed by the incredible living quality of these herbal products. I've tried many of the oils and scents over the past year. My personal favorite is the Sensual oil blend. I love the combination of rose, vanilla and clove. I also love the Heal oil. I used it on all my scars and bug bites when I got home from my Naked and Afraid experience in Belize; it brought me such quick relief, I can't speak highly enough about it. We sell her products and have some testers around the studio. Next time you're in for a class, take a minute to try something. -Shannon

Some specifics:
Rachel knows her stuff!  She uses 100% plant ingredients and therapeutic quality essential oils.  She sustainably grows her own herbs (organic seeds, organic soil and compost, sustainable building materials, never weed killers or pesticides) and makes fresh herbal oils which she then uses in her Wellness Blends  [Oils include Cayenne (SINUS RELIEF), Calendula (HEAL & CALENDULA), Comfrey (HEAL), Thyme (RESPIRATORY), Yarrow (HEAL), Lavender (LAVENDER), Rose Geranium (RELAX).]  Her skin care sprays are in a base of witch hazel and aloe vera juice and are blended with botanical extracts.

The oils are hand-blended and made each season with fresh botanicals to ensure the most effective healing qualities. The plants are dried properly, then stored in the dark at a cool temperature. Everything is stored in air-tight glass jars and the final products are packaged in amber glass bottles to protect them from heat and light.  No plastics are used in the processing.

The mission of Earth Philosophy is to raise awareness of the importance of plants for healing, and make 100% plant formulated wellness and personal care products more widespread, while using sustainable practices to sustain nature, as nature sustains us.
