Face Forward

Saturday March 23rd 1:00 - 3:00 PM

Cost:
$70 per person ($60 - early registration discount if registered by 3-16.)

The face is a unique area of the body! Releasing the tissues of the head, face, and neck is relaxing and rejuvenating.

You’ll leave this workshop feeling calm and restored with the tools to recreate the experience at home. The effects will radiate beyond the focus area to create a felt sense of well-being throughout the body.

Workshop will be lead by Shannon (of OWY) who will lead a segment using yoga balls to release jaw and neck tension, and Delaney (of Moon Flower Skin Care Studio) who will guide a Gua sha tool practice to relax over-worked muscles, lift the face, and provide glowing skin.

Foundations of Mindfulness with Brian
Breath Work and Meditation
12:00 - 2:00 PM

Breath is what gives us life.  Breathing exercises and meditation practices encourage physical health, lightness of heart and clarity of mind.  These practices calm and restore our nervous system so that all the other systems of the body (digestion, assimilation, circulation, etc.) can function more optimally.

Breath work which is a powerhouse in its own right is also a perfect preparation for meditation.  This workshop will seamlessly blend the two practices and will leave you feeling empowered to take control of your own well being and mental health.  You will leave this workshop with a collection of basic practices that you can craft into your own home practice.  No yoga experience necessary.

We’ll cover

    • Proper breath mechanics

    • Exercises to strengthen and enhance respiration

    • Use breath to employ techniques designed to down-regulate the nervous system.

In this workshop we will do exercises that will increase the healthy functioning of your respiratory system by tuning up the biomechanics of your breath, strengthening the muscles of respiration and increasing lung capacity. We will also do exercises that use the breath and breath awareness as tools to down regulate the nervous system. Attendees will leave this workshop with a set of simple breathing exercises that they can use to practice on their own.
